Izzy Ferreira-Alturas is a UX designer and MSc Human-Computer Interaction student at University College London. With a First-Class Honours degree in Psychology from Oxford Brookes University, she brings a strong foundation in cognitive science, user-centred design, and digital wellbeing to her work.

Her portfolio includes projects ranging from mental health interventions to mobile features and interactive data visualisation tools. She’s particularly interested in designing accessible, evidence-based experiences that support people in meaningful ways. Izzy is skilled in user research, wireframing, prototyping, and usability testing, with tools like Figma and Python shaping her iterative design process.

Izzy’s professional experience includes a product development internship at The Economist, where she supported multi-platform content strategies and user research, and a customer-facing role at Tesco, where observing how people interacted with self-checkouts and kiosks sparked her interest in everyday UX. These experiences have sharpened her empathy, adaptability, and ability to design with real-world users in mind.

Outside of design, Izzy can often be found hiking new trails, exploring different countries, swimming, playing football, or capturing quiet moments through photography. These experiences fuel her design thinking, helping her stay curious, observant, and grounded in the real world.
